LSI Researchers Receive National Recognition for Stem Cell Innovation

Two LSI researchers have been recognized in a recent national funding announcement by the Stem Cell Network (SCN), which awarded over $33.5 million to support innovative research in stem cell and regenerative medicine across Canada.

Dr. Timothy Kieffer

Dr. Timothy Kieffer received a Fueling Biotechnology Partnership Award as lead investigator for his project, “Vascularized, Stem Cell-Derived Islet Organoids for the Treatment of Type 1 Diabetes.”

Dr. Calvin Roskelley was named a co-investigator on an Impact Award-winning project, “Harnessing Stem Cell-Derived Tissue-Resident Innate Lymphoid Cells to Target and Eliminate Solid Tumors,” led by Dr. Kelly McNagny.
