Beckman Spectrophotometer
Beckman DU640 Spectrophotometer. Chemicals can be identified by which wavelengths of light they absorb. A chemical absorbs light based on the number and strength of bonds that exist between the atoms that make up the chemical. A spectrophotometer is a device that shines light of specific wavelengths (a spectrum) through a sample, and then measures how much light passes through the sample using a photometer. By measuring each wavelength of light individually, a full adsorption spectrum can be graphed, which reveals the type and concentration of chemicals in a solution.
Monitor is included.

Berthold Radioflow Detector LB 509 & Scintillator Pump LB 5035
The Radioflow Detector LB509 can be used to detect radiolabelled compounds by flow-through monitoring using HPLC. It can detect all isotopes, including alpha, beta and gamma radiation, and is also suitable for PET applications. For admixture applications, an additional liquid scintillator pump is integrated. This Detector offers a wide range of flow cells for all types of radioisotopes and applications, including high pressure cells (HPLC/MS), microbore, gamma, Cerenkov, and unique YG solid scintillator types. The flow cell is positioned between the photocathodes of two highly sensitive 2″ photomultiplier tubes operating in coincidence in the same way as a conventional liquid scintillation counter.

Gilson HPLC System (322 Pump & UV/VIS-152, 234 Autoinjector, FC204 Fraction Controller)
a) 322 pump and UV/VIS-152
The 322 HPLC Pump is a multi-solvent pump for analytical to semi-preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). It accommodates flow rates from 0.15 mL/min up to 30 mL/min at pressures up to 8700 psi (600 bar). It includes a built-in, high-pressure adjustable volume dynamic mixer (AVDm) allowing users to perform a binary gradient with a single unit. The 322 Pump is controlled by TRILuTIon® LC Software as part of an HPLC system.
The UV/VIS detector is a microprocessor-controlled absorbance detectors that provide single wavelength detection. Can monitor absorbance at any wavelength between 190-700nm, with a sensitivityb) 234 Autoinjector
b) The 234 Autoinjector is used to inject ready-prepared samples into an HPLC system for analysis purposes. The instrument can dilute samples and standards and add an internal standard to samples and standards. Vials containing sample liquids are placed in a single rack held at the front of the unit.
of 0.001-2.0 AUFS.
c) The FC 204 Fraction Collector is ideal for collecting fractions from a liquid chromatography system, from analytical to preparative flow rates. Associated with a peristaltic pump, this system offers a quick installation and low-cost tubing filling system with a small footprint, suitable for use in biosafety cabinets. It features an easy-to-sterilize flow path for minimized contamination.
Holds four racks to collect:
- Up to 240 fractions (13 x 100 mm tubes)
- Up to 176 fractions (18 x 1800 mm tubes)
- Up to eight shallow or deep-well microplates
