Equipment Services Workshop

The laboratories use a wide range of equipment from the simple stirrer to sophisticated analytical instrumentation. The knowledge and experience of the present staff mean that we are able to successfully repair and maintain a major portion of the instrumentation such as: Centrifuges, Plate readers, Incubators, Electrophoresis Equipment, Cell Disrupters, Immersion Circulators, Stirrers, Hotplates, Water Baths, Distilled and RO Water Systems, Shakers, Rotators, Thermal Cyclers, Spectrophotometers, Ovens and also Electrical Services on refrigeration systems etc.

• Autoclaves, Glass Washers and Ice Machines: Identifying issues in electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems, rebuilding/replacing faulty solenoid valves, sensors, gearboxes and circulation motors. Our work also involves adjustment and calibration of steam temperature and pressure.
• CO2 incubators: The accuracy of CO2 levels in incubators is essential for cell cultivation, our role ensures that the CO2 level is maintained at 5.0%. Calibration is our main task to keep incubators in good working condition.
• Instrumentation such as Imaging Systems, Ultra Centrifuges and Mass Specs: This type of equipment usually requires access to reference documentation, factory training and possibly special tools/jigs. This may limit our support capabilities. However, we can often help with the initial diagnostic process to determine an appropriate course of action. In addition, we are available to provide on-site technical support, under the direction of a remote service representative or technical group, to help diagnose problems or install shipped components.

It is highly recommended that you bring your equipment to the workshop for services as it will significantly cut down the costs involving the travel time.

Our workshop provides design consultation, precision machining, welding, fitting, and assembly for prototypes, custom-designed parts and the repair or modification of existing equipment. We operate and maintain CNC machines to produce precise parts by programming them using CAD/CAM software. Our facilities are equipped with a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welders, and 3D printers. Each serving a unique purpose in the fabrication process. These tools are crucial in creating components with precise dimensions and tolerances up to laboratory standards.

Our work includes shaping metals, acrylics, and composite materials into replacement and/or discontinued parts. As well as prototyping components and products. The applications cover a wide range of instruments that are either unavailable or costly in the market.
