Postdoctoral Fellows are vital to the LSI community, significantly advancing its mission and contributing to their fields. As the hub for life sciences research on the UBC campus, LSI features over 85 research labs and diverse research groups, supported by an average of $40 million in funding, which enables more than 100 postdoctoral fellows to pursue exciting research opportunities.
The LSI offers a dynamic environment for graduate research, with faculty recognized internationally in fields such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, immune responses, and cancer biology. The LSI provides excellent opportunities for collaboration with other departments and medical research institutes, along with access to cutting-edge facilities for microscopy, flow cytometry, high-throughput screening, and animal models.
The LSI offers undergraduate students hands-on lab experience, working alongside leading scientists on groundbreaking research in areas like infectious diseases, antibiotic resistance, and immune responses, as well as other diverse fields of study.
