The LSI’s core infrastructure and position as the flagship of life sciences research at UBC, along with the interactive environment, is a magnet for attracting interdisciplinary and collaborative faculty. Formal and informal conversations, presentations and workshops provide numerous opportunities for individual researchers to draw on the varied expertise of institute colleagues, challenge assumptions of each other’s disciplines, help with laboratory problem-solving and collectively catalyze discovery.
