Aryannah Rollinson featured on Faculty of Medicine Staff Spotlight

LSI’s own HR and Operations Manager Aryannah Rollinson is currently featured on MedNet as this month’s staff member in the spotlight.

Below are her answers to the suite of questions posed to participating faculty and staff. This initiative is a great opportunity to learn more about our colleagues.

How long have you worked at the UBC Faculty of Medicine?

Since 2011

Tell us what you do at the Faculty in one or two sentences:

I lead administration for the Life Sciences Institute, which is the largest institute on campus, housing research programs from a range of Faculties and Departments.

What’s your favourite thing about your work?

My job is very multi-faceted and ever-changing – never a dull moment!

One thing we might be surprised to learn about you?

I have spent much of my life practicing a wide variety of martial arts, including Karate, Brazilian Jiujitsu, and Krav Maga – just to name a few.

What is the song you sang out loud as a teenager?

Lauryn Hill – Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You

What makes you laugh?

The hilarious interactions between my toddler and my dog.

One thing on your desk you brought from home?

My Tetley tea.

Most healthy habit:

I drink lots and lots of water.

What is your favourite vacation spot and why?

Brazil. Love the food, the music, and the amazing diversity of the natural environment and cultures across the country. So much to see and do, I could go back again and again!
