LSI PIs Sarah Hedtrich and Arun John Peter named Canada Research Chairs

The Canada Research Chairs Program enables Canadian universities to achieve the highest levels of research excellence and become world-class research centres. By advancing cutting-edge research, chairholders are improving the health and well-being of Canadians, strengthening Canada’s international competitiveness, and training the next generation of talent through student supervision, teaching and the coordination of other researchers’ work. The Life Sciences Institute is currently home to 14 active chairs, including a Canada Research Excellence Chair and a Canada 150 Chair.

*John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF) Funding of $300,000 was also awarded to UBC Canada Research Chair Arun John Peter.
